I am the founder of Functional Health Canberra, I am an accredited Functional Nutrition Consultant and a Clinical EFT Practitioner (Emotional Freedom Techniques).
If you haven't heard of EFT, it is basically a powerful stress management tool sometimes referred to as “tapping” or emotional acupuncture without needles.
My mission is to educate and inspire others to live an optimal healthy lifestyle. I am not about fads, low calorie or restrictive diets but believes in nourishing our body with delicious nutrient dense whole foods.
Years of failed weight loss diets sparked my initial interest in nutrition. I was confused and wanted to end my own personal struggles with health and weight.
This led me to commence studies as a hobby, and while studying my fascination for nutrition grew. The more I studied, the more my perspective shifted,
I NO LONGER LOOKED AT FOOD AS THE ENEMY BUT RATHER A WAY TO CARE AND NOURISH MY BODY.
As my mind and body transformed, I could sense that my family and friends respected my knowledge and advice, I became a source of information to them.
Nutrition and health quickly became more than just a hobby, it was my true passion and something that I wanted to pursue into the future.
BUT...it was only after the birth of my daughter Isabella, that I finally developed the confidence to turn my passion into a career. (You made me fearless baby girl xx)
Functional Health Canberra really came together when I combined a functional approach to nutrition with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques).
This was because I found that an isolated approach to nutrition was generally not sufficient for many people; as was the case in my own personal circumstances.
There is a resistance many people faced when it comes to nutrition and making healthy choices. This resistance can be due to a number of different factors including stress, limiting self-beliefs and negative behavioural patterns or habits; for which EFT is extremely effective.
Combining the two has been my winning formula to help people achieve and maintain their health goals. I would love to share it with you!
